Plain & Ribbed Iron (Rebars)

Steel bars used in construction and industrial projects are evaluated in two basic groups: Flat round iron and ribbed rebar. A description of both products, their salient features and relevant standards are summarized below.

Flat Round Iron

Flat round iron, also known as a spindle, hot rolling method; then it is drawn from cold molds and brought into bar form. This process ensures that the product gains high strength and long life. It is especially preferred in construction and industrial applications thanks to its flat, smooth surface and corrosion resistance.

Highlights

  • Durable chemical structure and high corrosion resistance
  • High resistance to tensile and rupture
  • High impact resistance, controlled shrinkage and expansion properties
  • Standard diameters: 8 mm - 40 mm (larger diameters can be produced according to need)

Steel Grades

  • ST 37 (S235JR)
  • ST 44 (S275JR)
  • ST 52 (S355JR)
  • ST 60
  • SAE 1010, SAE 1020, SAE 1030, SAE 1040, SAE 1050, SAE 4140
  • Ck 45, Ck 55, Ck 60
  • 55Cr3

Section Tolerance

Productions DIN, EN, ASTM and JIS norms are realized within appropriate tolerances.

Ribbed Rebar

Ribbed rebar is a steel bar that provides stronger adherence to concrete thanks to the line/notch structures on its surface. Reinforced concrete structures
It is used to increase its durability and carrying capacity. It is produced in different sizes and steel grades according to project requirements.

Production and Harmonized Standards

  • TS 708 - Chemical composition, mechanical properties and dimensions
  • ASTM A615/A615M - American standard for construction steel bars
  • DIN 488 - German standard
  • BS 4449 - UK standard (commonly used in European projects)
  • ISO 6935-2 - Production in accordance with international standards

Main Advantages

  • High adherence and shear resistance with concrete
  • Contribution to the overall strength and continuity of structures
  • Standard-compliant, controllable mechanical performance
